Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 27, 2026

Overview

183 is built on a simple principle: your location history is sensitive, and it stays on your device. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your personal data. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information.

Location Data

183 uses iOS location services — specifically significant-location monitoring and circular geo-fences — to automatically detect when you cross a border or enter/leave a country.

  • All location processing happens on-device. Your coordinates are converted to country codes using a local GeoJSON dataset bundled with the app. No raw GPS data is ever sent anywhere.
  • We never upload your location history. 183 has no backend server. There is no account to create and no cloud infrastructure operated by us that receives your whereabouts.
  • You control the permissions. You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings. The app degrades gracefully — manual entry remains available.

iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled, 183 uses Apple's iCloud Key-Value Storage to sync your day counts and settings across your own iOS devices (e.g. iPhone and iPad).

  • Sync is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple — 183 has no visibility into this data.
  • Only you can access it, through your Apple ID.
  • iCloud sync can be disabled in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → 183.

Purchases

183 Pro is an in-app purchase processed by Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to verify purchase receipts and manage entitlements.

  • RevenueCat assigns an anonymous app user ID. This ID contains no personally identifiable information.
  • We do not receive your name, email, or payment details from Apple or RevenueCat.
  • RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Analytics

We collect no analytics. 183 does not integrate any analytics SDK, crash reporting service, or third-party tracker. There are no SDKs phoning home with usage events, session data, or device identifiers beyond what Apple itself collects through the App Store.

Children's Privacy

183 is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at the address below and we will promptly delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If we materially change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
